    on the first page of the sticky "Proper Sound Deadning", he put the clay on the ring. i assume u dont mount the midbass on the side where the clay is right?



    soon to be installed in my custom f-150.
    kx600.1 powering a re se10
    kx350.2 powering a set of mb quarts components 5.25"

    no u Do mount it there. it reduces vibration

    You can.

    And yes, you mount it on the side with the clay. The clay not only works as a deadener, but it also seals the area between the speaker and the baffle and dampens the connection between the speaker and the mounting surface.
