    looking for good 4x6s

im gunna be puttin speakers in my girl's 02 cavalier. 4x6s fit in the front door and 6x9s fit in the rear deck. 6x9s wont be hard to find but good 4x6's will. best power wise ive seen is the rockford powers at 40watts rms each. does anybody have any other ideas on something that will compare to most 6.5s. what was GM thinking?

    infinity has pretty good ones.

get the plate 4x6's the round cone will distort less than the oblongish one.

indeed -- Better idea: chop + chop = room for a 6"-7" speaker YAY...
as for the rear... Mount some subs IB?

If you can't cut there and don't want the painfull IB install process (it ***** -- takes a whole weekend away...)

    http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showd...number=264-836

those don't look *too* shabby... between 100-200 watts of power -- actively bandpassed between say 40 and .... well wherever you feel like it and you would get some reasonable low distortion bass

Again all depends on your budget and how far you are willing to go to give your special lady some good sound

    Re: looking for good 4x6s

If you're looking for some quality 4x6's, get a pair of Boston Acoustics 746. They are 4x6 plate speakers, and probably the best sounding 4x6 drop-in replacements I've heard (still crying inside about forgetting them in a vehicle when I traded it in).

i really liked the infinity kappa plate speakers. i've only used pioneer and kenwood 4x6's to compare, but the infinity's were the best.

and yeah, i'm a memphis wh0re..lol....but it's awesome, quality stuff, that's hard to beat. especially the pr stuff when ur on a budget...
