What comps for under $500?

What components would be the best for under $500? I'm going for sound quality.

The plats are better overall.. I was just talking about detail... when I come out with my own custom drivers though... rainbow plat/ref look out here I come...

Anywho I would say more on the level of all around quality with the BA Z6... the Z6 gets louder -- mine have a smoother more accurate midbass -- a bit less 'punch' if the BA are in their other mode... -- the BA are a little more sensitive and take a little more power so they come out on top in terms of volume (just like the rainbow plats) -- but mine are in the same league as the platinum in terms of detail... so that makes up for the loss of SPL vs the BA z6... not to mention the price difference lol...

It was just a comparison against some $2000 speakers... for some speakers that cost well under $500... -- granted the $2000 set is better -- but the BA aren't :P -- mine are arguably better than the BA z6.... or the BA z6 is arguably better than mine -- that is how they can be on the same playing field -- depends on tastes -- if you want louder -- or more detailed...

Arc Audio ACS265's, 2ways -Rainbow made using cal 25 silk Professional series dome tweeter and a SLC/Pro hybrid mid, pretty efficient yet can handle gobs of power well, buttery smooth highs, snappy detailed mids with plenty of kick. Can get these way under that budget.
