need quality 6x9's

hey, i'm not looking for THE BEST but i am looking for a vast improvement over stock 91's lol... i am looking for something that will give me some mid bass, i'm going from treble to woofer bass and BLAH! i don't wanna spend the money on components, i just want good 6x9's that will blend the music a bit... a lot of my friends have 6x9's that give them bass, i need that... Thanks!!!

my budget is around 75 shipped for the pair...

I've always had a softspot for JVC's coaxes, they have excellent tonal qualitys and are cheap like borsht.

I just got a pair of 2005 Alpine Type R 6x9's from ikesound for 107 shipped. They feature a 1" softdome tweeter in pointsource fashion. They sound just fine and blend in well with everything else.

make a plate for a 6.5". that is what i would do. take a look into the pioneer rev series or the JL VR's

An adapter to fit a 6.5" in the factory spot for a 6 x 9". Round speakers will sound better than the oval of a 6x9.
If you dont want to make them, you can buy them premade. Either crutchfield or sounddomain should have them.

Also, maybe check out some Cadence coaxials. They sound pretty good, and there is usually quite a few pairs on ebay. The sellers name is antelope something, and his stuff comes with a warranty direct from cadence.

Plates are easy to build, and you can usually fit both a 6.5" woofer and 1" tweeter, making them ideal for turning a 6x9 location into a spot for mounting components.

I've owned the blue cone 6.5's and 5x7's as well as the purple coned 6x9's and I really liked how they sounded, the imaging left a few things to be desired but for what they cost it didn't matter.

Do the Gold cones sound that bad?, I havn't heard them yet and just assumed they were the same as the purple and blue series.
