    6x9 enclosures...which?

I need some enclosures for 4 6x9's . What do you recommend? Buy or build? I saw these and was not sure if they would produce a good sound. I am going to hook up an amp to them for a total of about 60 RMS to each 100w speaker. I am adding a 12" sub also but still want to get some mid bass out of the 6x9's.

If you have skematics for a good box let me know.

    Thanks,

    Haw

Just build something that looks nice and will fit. I'm sure they'll sound pretty good in any sealed enclosure.

yea but they are only 6x9's so it wont it will only need to be sealed off real good. not ported off or anything. and be sure they use MDF. not P board.

build your own man. research online about how to make 'em. Quality will be 5x better than buying one from the store of w/e

    Re: 6x9 enclosures...which?

I was hoping you would say that... I actually just tried a pair a friend of mine had sitting empty at his house... put both of the 6x9's in with some poly I had laying around. Highs and mids sounded real clear but bass was crap. I was real muffled sounding. I'll take the polly out and see how it sounds tomorrow but I am guessing not much different. I used to have an old 1/2" plywood box with gaps all over it that sounded 10x better... at least in the bass area. I'll look on line and see if I can figure a good way to incorporate them with the 12" sub to get a good sound. Need to build a box for that also..

Nooo.... I am going to make a box for my sub when it comes and mount amps to box as well as (if room allows) mount the 4 6x9's somewhere.. I would like to have one big arse box that I can take out in one piece if I need to load stuff in the back of the truck (Blazer).

Here is my idea for my box... it will basically be 3 enclosures all attached. (2 6"x9" enclosures on either side of the sub enclosure). Sub enclosure will be sealed... may leave the 6x9 enclosure open backed...thoughts?

nah, i think it'll look fine... perfection varies in this forum... just do what you think looks good... sound is most important

He actually meant imaging of the stage, not what your box looks like.
