Maybe see if IA would have an open house or something. I can't go either way, but I wouldn't consider going unless it was a competition, install day, or open house at a manufacturer.
I thought IA was in Florence, that's WAAYYY north AL. Sounds like the OP wants a meet in his backyard, car stereo comps/meets are not nearly as popular as they used to be so you will have to travel.
not my back yard, but not north AL either. there's plenty of us in south AL, NW florida, south MS that we could do something. i'm not down to drive 4+ hrs to go to a show. that's not my way of fun.
i know that we could do something fairly "local".
We had a event at Audio X (Florence, AL) last spring. Decent turn-out. Had IA there. Call Cook and see if he's up for anything. 1-256-764-4111
Steve is sponsoring a MECA event May 19 in Florence .... and I second the idea of having to travel more than 2 hours or so (one way) for a competition, kinda takes the fun out of it - especially if you only have a boom car.
