Noob Competition Question

I have been into car audio for a long time but I don't know anything at all about competitions. What do you guys win when you place at comps? Cash, trophies?? I have know idea and have always wondered.

Depends on what organization and what show you go to.

Some shows you will win just trophies, other shows may have cash payouts.

The MECA show I was at this past weekend had cash payouts for any class that had 4 or more people in it, $5 per person in the class. Since there were 5 people in my class including myself, I won $25.
