Which is the better SQ sub, DR or DP? Is DP used mainly for SPL? I want to be loud, but I want it to be clean and be able to go low.

Both will do what you are looking for. I personally used a DP 18 in my truck for a few months, it hammered the lows and sounded quite good for my application.
