Dc level 2 8 is also a great lil sub. It is really cheap also. Got a great price qoute for one shipped

Sorry for the absence - school's been busy.
Klash - I have the E8 sealed bolted to my rear deck as I had talked about, and I am not happy with itI am running 375W to it from a USA-50HC bridged at 1 ohm gain at 1/3ish, and it's just... not loud enough. I had a little active 8" Blaupunkt sub (like 120W) under my seat before this, and that was loud enough... which is why I thought another 8 would do even better with more than twice the power and a better sub and better amp... but it just doesn't cut through my front stage and if I turn it up to where it's starting to be loud enough I fear the sub distorting and the amp gets DISTURBINGLY hot... like hot enough to burn your hand if you left it on long enough. And the previous owner could run it at 0.5 ohm without this issue.
So I feel like everything is telling me to finally put something in my trunk and finally get more cone area... Which is why I made this thread in the first place... The friend who helped me build the E8's box has a JL 10w3 in his passat, ported box to spec, and that thing is PLENTY loud for me. So my thinking is that a DCON 10 in a ported to-spec box should make me happy...
How do you think the DCON would compare to the 10w3 in terms of both DEEBEEZ and SQ?

Would you agree with my reasoning *** - and any opinion on the 10w3 comparison?
edit: oh my goodness it doesn't like $ex![]()

Sry internet crapped out
Pooface. Is there a particular 10" SQLish sub in this price range I should consider? $ex or anyone?

I considered the dayton... and I had looked into the epic 8 a lil.
I've read that people were unhappy with the dayton's output, and since I'll only be running one that is important to me... The epic 10 is about $61 over budget
And were i to go with the dcon or any other sub at this point, i'd be running ported not sealed... hm.

denim thanked for this post

ew, don't do sealed, sealed is for lazy people or people who are trunk space jews.
honestly, I think you might be taking this SQ thing a little too far, I think you think that if the sub isn't strictly an SQ sub it's going to sound like arse, DCONs should sound fine.
