bought an 87 iroc-z from my local copart.com. it had fire damage to the inside of the car. the only damage to the engine was that the a spark plug wires on the distibutor closest to the fire wall were seinged. i thought a stock iroc-z 5.7 was going to be a little to much for my 87 cutlass but after haveing this motor looked at and parts researched by my local machine shop, it's way to much for my needs. motor is tight and shows no signs of leaks. it can be converted to card with just three parts; carb, carb manifold, hei distributor(with gears replace with bronz gears). and i have those parts avalible. bnib holley 670cfm , performer vortec manifold, accell hei distributor (with bronz gears). the motor is very fresh. all gaskets and seals look new. exaust ports have very little carbon build up. you can still see that the stainless steel valve are stainless steel valves.
