Asphalt base has more unrefined crude oil content, I wonder how it reacts to arching, sparks or a lit joint accidentally dropped?

    Re: Dynamat

Asphalt doesn't offer the same deadening properties as high quality butyl. It's crap. Knu Kolossus, SDS CLD, or STP Atlantic Gold are all great products and not all that expensive.

@BoomTaco64 ; read this and then try and tell me with a straight face that you would recommend peel n seal. It's made for roofing, not deadening. Sound Deadening (CLD) Testing - Car Audio | DiyMobileAudio.com | Car Stereo Forum

That stuff looks really similar to the STP Atlantic products, which performed well. We can't tell for sure without testing, though.

i wouldn't consider roadkill a budget brand it is cheap but works just as good as dynamat or most other brands

    Re: Dynamat

Roadkill didn't perform nearly as well as Knu, but it's still decent deadener for the price.
