Its a 1 cubic foot enclosure..how much port do you think it needs?

IIRC it is 16.5 sq inches of port.

I wasn't worried about total area just about ratio of width to height that's all. But that said I built a box once with a thin as port and it seemed to have one hell of a range on it and no port noise, so it isn't that simple. And agreed, looks very well constructed!!
