    parts?

    ok i have a aiwa nsx-v50 home steroe system and i have one old 12" car sub and i want to know what parts or wat i would have to buy to hook up the 12 to my home stereo cheapest way please thanks trevor

    or basically wat is the cheapest and safest way to hook up a car sub to a home stereo reciever ?

    You need a plate amp (check Parts Express, they sell a wide range of them) to power your sub, and then run speaker wire from the high level outputs on your receiver to the inputs on the plate amp.

    ok thanks so thats wat ill get about what siz plate amp do you think i will need the 100 watt one im plannin on buyin a good 8 to go on it after the 12" sub

    Don't mix sub sizes...go with a 12", or an 8", but not both...

    i'd go with the 240 watt one, as u can always wire it down to 8 ohms and u still ahve the ability to crank out more. are those plate amps 2 ohm stable?

    no im not mixin them im jsut takin the 12" off one day since its old and then get a good new 8" sub and i was figuring with an 8 i could just get the 100 watt one

    but with a 10" or 2-3 8s (good 8" ht sub? bah) you're gonna want more power. my 250 watt plate amp pushes in my daytons like michael jackson w/ an 8 yr old
