    crossover building

ok people i am now EXTREMELY ANGRY at the instructions that my GENIUS of a friend in ohio gave me for building a simple 2-way crossover at 3500hz. i went and hooked it up and the fcker started smoking and then just stopped. so now i'm starting from the beginning, as though i never knew anything about 'em in the first place. where can i get a book or instructions or such on how to build home crossovers? any help is GREATLY appreciated!!

Well, give us a schematic of the crossover design you were given, we can pick it apart from there...

Well, since we don't know what you tried, we don't know what to recommend

Component values, inductance, resistance, anything...throw me a bone here.

Lemans, Look for a document called "passive crossovers made easy"

If you can't find it, can you wait a week? When I go back to denver I can fax it to you. I don't have it electronically.

Jack, why the hell don't you like crossovers? That's the most ridiculous thing I've heard on this forum.

What else do you need to know...

The rest is dependent on your drivers.

Then I guess you've never heard a crossoverless speaker...do a Google search for Lowther, Fostex, or several others.

i assume he likes his speakers to produce their full ranges. next up for me is a bi-wired speaker pair. but first i need to make a center channel
