Moved this to Home Audio, should get more replies here.
Do you want to go with a 5.1 surround system? Or just a regular two channel stereo and a sub?
Klipsch and Boston Acoustics both make decent "computer speakers", although if you're looking for a good system, going DIY will get you something that will blow "computer speakers" away. By a lot.
logitech z-2300

there ya go.
speakers are bangin, i can believe without a doubt its really 200w for this 2.1
I second the logitechs. They are not too exspensive and sound pretty good. I had one of their 2.1 systems and I liked it alot.

build urself cabinets, or maybe even get the 75 watt amp...put a 2'' on either side of the tweet (vertically, mid>tweet>mid) and put the sub under the desk. your friends won't believe it when they hear it. i made some speakers out of thst 2" last year, and my dad uses them on his computer at work lol. theyre unfinished so he put his med texts around them so that only he can see the drivers. they sound amazing. that tang-band subwoofer gets decently loud for a compuuter system. you won't believe it when u hear that and then listen to ur friend's dell computer speaker sets.
