new amp, at least for now...*pics*

part of my latest project...it's a EL84 single-ended triode amplifier, does around 2 watts into a 2-8 ohm load. Yup - count 'em; one, two. This was one of a matched set of monoblocks, and I'm thinking of talking to the seller to get a better deal on the second channel it's sitting at home 200 miles away right now, driving a single horrendous Yamaha bookshelf and a Kenwood FM tuner...waiting for better days

I might sell it in the future to go to a 6W pentode setup...or EL34 integrated...****, I have too much free time and not enough $

retail...$425 per watt needless to say, i didn't pay that much

If I do end up getting the second and monoblocking it, I'm swapping out the rectifier...sonuva***** starts to rattle after it gets warmed up; that's what you get with $5 stock Chinese-built tubes.

you'd be really surprised what it can do...

once I get this on the real speakers I'll be using, with at least 93dB/W, it'll be room-filling.
