I'll be starting to build some HT towers Tomorrow.
My whole goal was to not spend a lot of money ... so no stuffing them with $500 worth of speakers.

So, I chose ...

Just two towers to begin with.

Eventually I'll move my Uberwoofer inside and build a beast of an enclosure. Throw 800 - 1200 watts on it ... just because.

Oh, and I'm going to need an amp for those towers. All I have right now is an old AKAI AA-1050 (I can't find specs for it anymore) ... some of the older guys might remember them. Have a Sony CDP-CX100 100-disc as well.

I don't want to spend a lot of money here. I figure those towers were decent bang for the buck.

Now, if you have any suggestions ... let me know. If you think a different driver would work better (in a similar price range) ... suggest it. Keep the crossover in mind, please.

I *might* add rear speakers later on.


Can I make use of any of the equipment I currently have?
Think those towers are alright? Consider budget / bang for the buck.

Yeah, you'll need an amp for the mains and one for the Uber.

I was just wondering how much power you need for those towers.

Behringer EP1500 could work. Or something similar.

Tower power ... the 7's are 50RMS, the 5.25's are 30RMS, and the tweets are 100RMS.

it's a TC Sounds custom build...TC9 motor, black aluminum cone, MTX 12-spoke basket. Really low Fs (21Hz) and *really* low Qts (.18)...should be spiffy for a transmission line.
