They have true drivers in the bud, seems like a good buy.
EDIT: Although, if you are already going to be spending 200+ on headphones, the same company does an over the ear set that would have a much more powerful driver for better sub 40hz range.
You should get a set of Shure's new open headphones. SRH1440 or SRH1840.
But if you're going in ears, I don't want to convince you of anything. I can't stand them. :crap:
I can't stand over the ears, I forgot to mention that. They will be run through an amplifier as well.
What kind of ampeelflier?
Shure makes some damn good in-ear headphones.
so in other words I'm good to go? I'd like to go the next step up but $500 for something very easy to lose makes me second guess.
EarSonics SM3 v2 on sale for $359.95 - SoundEarphones
Amazon.com: Sennheiser IE 8 Earphones: Electronics
Those two would be better options, for basically the same price.

I'd go with the Sennheisers I linked you to. The Shure's aren't a bad choice by any means, just not necessarily the best.
do either of those have detachable cords?
edit: I'd rather get something with out them if possible.
I'll look into it, I'm between new headphones and a Beretta m9 right now.
i have these, they sound amazing.
