anybody running stereo subwoofers? Actually ran in stereo as well not just 2 on a mono signal
I did it a long time ago with a Radio Shack "Realistic" 12".
No drama, but then I wasn't really killing the thing with a bunch of power. Maybe 50 watts / coil IIRC.
Running the subs in stereo is for sq not spl
DIYMA is also a car audio forum so neither is the best place. But I don't like talking to most HT guys
AVSforum I found to be pretty helpful...now GTFO.
loljk
If your looking for a nice HT forum try techtalk. It's parts express's forum. Tech Talk Forum - Techtalk Speaker Building, Audio, Video, and Electronics Customer Discussion Forum From Parts-Express.com
They are big on measurements, so no $10,000 speaker wire crap!
In many cases it wouldn't matter because the bass is mixed to mono in the studio. (So I've heard - and every thing you hear on the internet is true!!)

Most people run dual subs for the added output at lower volumes.
Plus it helps if you have a huge room a dual setup will help better fill it.
Whatever you go with, check to see if you can daisy-chain the subs, it will help in your tweaking and tuning..
Good luck
I ran stereo subs (Vifa M26WR09 10") along with my Usher S520 bookshelf speakers. Crossed them over just where the ushers started to drop off. It blended real nice. I used an Audiocontrol PCA (Phase Coupled Activator) as the crossover. I didnt actually cross the bookshelf speakers over. I let them run full range. Just blended the subs in to match. It was great. Subs went down flat to 23Hz with -6db at 18Hz or so. This is inroom response of course - probably helped by room gain.
I just built some two way towers with an 8" driver and 1" tweeter that go just low enough that I dont feel I need a sub which is why I'm not running that setup anymore. New speakers are flat in room to 30Hz with -6db at around 25Hz.
This was the old setup:

i have done it before, but even for sq IMO a mono signal for woofer is always better
