Picked up another toy today...

$50 for this Sony STR-6065...Considered Sony's second best receiver, second to the STR-6060FW (of which I previously had as well). Some call them a baby Mcintosh Very expensive componentry inside leads to indiscernible THD, .007% iirc. Rated at 75x2. Has a pre-out for a center/sub!

I have the wooden cabinet for it as well (super rare!), but it needs some reconditioning. The receiver itself is in pretty good condition, a few scratches on the front, and disappointingly, the letters are starting to fade Mechanically, the main light is going out and one of the treble knobs (one is adjustable for the left, one for the right) needs to be lubed. Otherwise, it works perfect.

I have seen more than a few amps in my time with the round transistors (I forget the name of them) in the output section, but I have never had an amp before with them outside of the output section!

Well, it's the same vintage as my Sony SSU-1800s, so once I finish recapping those crossovers and refinishing the cabinets, they'll make a nice pair

I popped a few resistors off it before I left
