Yes, it would be near perfect as long as you remember to use an outboard crossover (unless you're using it with a home theater receiver that has its own crossover for the ".1" channel).

I don't see how you can answer that question without knowing what he's using it in. With that said, what are you using it for?

He said he wants to use it on a passive home subwoofer.

Now I admit Im expecting him to match the power and ohms of the sub to that amp, but if he takes those into consideration it should be fine.

I ddin't see the word subs, I read it as "can this amp be used in a HT?" So yes, it can be. I use behringer amps for all my computer subs
