I don't have any info on that unit, and congrats on your find, but I was just thinking about what happened to you today.
I was thinking of getting a low end Sony receiver, its like $150, and then I thought, hell I remember sometimes seeing these things in a trash can or a goodwill still in good condition or with a minor defect, so now I'm thinking twice on buying one of these brand new?

nice! I've got a tx-36 and tx-18, but they're a little newer than that. I bought both of them with bad amps, replaced the amps myself and they're good to go now.
But my newer tx-sr503 is **** for the surround and optical imputs.
