please take a look at these CL findings and tell me what you think

Ok so I like the idea of scratching but i also like the idea of just listening to records. So here i have some craiglist finds around my area and I am wondering what u think of any of them.

That is uh quite the variety of equipment you have there.

What is your main objective? If you want to scratch I would suggest buying a pair of dj turntables. If you just want to listen go with the Mac stuff without question.

Well i don't have the money to spend on the Mc stuff, except they had a TT lised for like 150 on the add that maybe i could bargain for.

I would like to be able to scratch, but i guess just listen to records right now on my home stereo and be able to get loud. Right now i have as sony amp that doesn't have a phono in, so i dont know if that won't work for TT's. (i read somewhere it wouldn't) I would like to have an old school power amp, to power my marantz speakers 7000 series.

Since your receiver does not have a phono in you will need either a pre-amp or a record player with built in phono. Like this

And scratching is not for just any old turntable.

Well what about the TT's on CL. Any of those systems have merit?

I have no idea to be honest. I dont know much about turntables accept for what I learned from my ex who was a dj.

I am sure they will do the trick, the question being if any of them have a phono out or otherwise you will have to buy additional parts.

You need the phono preamp built in to the tt because your amp does not have a phono in.

If the amp has a phono in than you will not need additional parts.
