I have a directed studio 10" sub that was in my civic when I bought it, and I was wondering if it can be used in home theater?

Get a plate amp, Parts Express or Apex Jr. sells them.
The British Ear
99% of receivers do not have a sub amp installed in them.
But get a good plate amp and then run the 'rca' out for the sub from the receiver into the plate amp and you sould be in like sin.
