what cheap amps to look at?

Im considering building a small output...yet high quality loudspeaker setup for my computer (I spent a lot of time on my computer and I listen to a TON of music on it)

What are some cheap amps that'll get me about 50-100 watts @ 8ohms + 15-25 watts @ 8ohms?

Im considering building some BG Neo8s + Dayton RS270s (crossed somewhere between 500-1000hz) on a 12" open-baffle covered in acoustically transparent screen on both sides

How would a used diy gainclone work for me?

Could I just use an SB Audigy2 soundcard or something similar?

ive always wanted to do some tang band 6.5s or 8s and then like a bash audio 250w plate amp

not a subwoofer...just some cheap open-baffle towers (Dayton Reference 10" + BG Neo8s)

It's a fun electronics project to say that you did it, parts cost rises if you want
to make a quality one, and the lack of power they deliver and inability to cope
with lower impedance makes them unattractive considering that you can buy used
amps on the market that are superior, albiet, not cheap to. You are better off
getting a Behringer A500 for $200 than wasting $200 on a DIY chipamp project,
but you can build a cheap chipamp for cheap if you don't care about craftsmanship.

This is one of the rare times that I agree with thy, but that wouldn't be a bad idea there.... Just look around parts express for stuff, also have you considered a Receiver? It might pay off more later if you want to upgrade away from the computer. Another reason to stay away from a chipamp would be the wide range of inpedences a planar will give you.

Also, how did you pick those crossover points? Was/Is there a reason for picking that range?
