Been out of the loop as to what are good brand speakers for home theatre! I just got a nice LCD tv and i'm planning to get either a Harmon Kardon or Denon receiver. Locally I can get Jamo, Energy (brand), Infinity. Looking for sub too. Thanks

Energy makes good stuff, I'd demo those for sure. Tannoy, Monitor, Klipsch, Boston Acoustics, Difinitive, etc. are all worth a look. There are a ton more maybe I'll come up with them later

Best thing to do is get your favorite 5 CD's and just go listen. Listen to everything in, above, and below your budget. Just listen to everything, and then you can find the brand that sticks out the most. How much is your budget? Are you looking for floor standing speakers? Or bookshelves?

X 2, make sure the CDs you take are of GOOD quality recordings. Also, I've been running the same set of Mirage speakers for over 10 years now and they're still sounding nice.
