    routers

    Hey. Im looking for a new plunge router....i just dont know how much HP you need and stuff like that......no price limit....heres some dewalts that i found. Help me decide please

    Mine is a porter cable 1 3/4 horse. It does very well for circle cutting and edge trimming. It was $150 off ebay shipped bnib. it came with the carrying case, a fixed base, and a plunge base. If you want one off of amazon, id take the 3hp plunge for $229 http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...&s=hi&v=glance if the circle jig will fit it

    What type of work is being done with the router? Some people have many
    routers for different jobs.

    I think getting the 3 horse router would be good to start with because you
    need that power to do bigger jobs well. The second thing I look for is
    variable speed - a must have.

    For router bits, Whiteside bits rule.

    im just probaly going to use it for rounding corners and making holes, and varies types of joints

    my bosch (while expensive) is so **** smooth it should be illegal
