Need some opinions... concerning my clarion deck.

I have a Clarion DXZ745MP which I like a lot but it leaves a lot to be desired as far as tone shaping/eq/crossovers. It doesn't have a hpf built in so I have to use my amp (an ed nine.2) hpf which I don't like too much because I can't tell where it's set to acurately. Anyway, I was thinking of selling it to get a higher end clarion or an Alpine but maybe an seperate digital crossover/eq would work out for me? I like the head unit since I can change the colors easy, I know how to use all the features and it sounds good. Any comments?

You seem to be satisfied with your current HU so there's no point in getting a new 1.
Get an EQ and you should be alright.

Can you suggest some EQs I should be looking at? I've never used an outboard solution before.
