One thing I was worried about. I'll have to consider that problem.

It has a certain appeal to it. But I'm mostlly interested in it's features.

    Re: Upgrade

what are you upgrading from? imo preout voltage is overrated. if you don't get system noise at 2 volts, 4-8 volts really won't do much better.

    Re: Upgrade

yeah look for higher preamps fuks looks. Belive me the internal are worth more than the externals. I kick my self everyday that i did not buy an cd player with atleast 4volts preamps.

    P.s. I have the panasonic 602u

that is the whole point of it, but if you have no noise with your gains up higher to match the 2 volts then why do you need higher preout voltage?

also by keeping the gains down u will have chance of less clipping and it will run cooler.

if you properly set your gains, your amp should not clip. also i doubt he is buying the headunit at crutchfield. i think he is just showing us that as an example?

    Re: Upgrade

yeah tru. BUt also if u have like 8 volt gains u do not even have to touch them. Just us the factory set ones. I just makes for an easier process.

Bingo. I'de never pay cruthfield prices on my equipment.

I'm upgrading or transitioning from a Sony CDX-M9905x. For the sound purposese I'm sure the Clarion might be a little ahead in that field. It has 4v pre outs. And it is a very clean signal.

So most huff over it is the look of it right. I'm not 100% set on it yet still looking at other options.

Thanks for all the input so far.
