a lot of opinion goes into answering this but i have always loved Pioneer Premier models, a lot of ppl will say Alpine as well, but Premier i think is better, but thats my opinion
Pioneer Premier, Elemental Designs, SoundSplinter, RE Audio, Rockford Fosgate, Optima, Stinger
x2
sony yeah!

If I had the money I would buy an Eclipse H/U, the CD8454 model to be exact. those H/U's = the pimpness.
back at it...

Some of my favorites:
- Eclipse
- Alpine
- Pioneer Premier
Alpine
I've used four decks by them, never had a problem with any of them![]()
i have always used eclipse decks and then i tried an alpine and i reget buying that thing. my eclipse's were much better, but that is just me. go to a couple shops and try them out. play with them a little. see what options they have and figure out what one you like. that would probably be the easiest way to see what YOU like, not what we like.
Kenwood is also a great HU
I've heard Clarion is supposta be pretty decent also.

add rockford, denon, and nakamichi to that list and pick a nice one man.Originally Posted by ridge

I just replaced my alpine 9831 for a pioneer 8600 last night. all i have to say about the pioneer isso I say pioneer.
I own one alpine 7875 and also a alpine 7873. I also own a eclipse 5443 or something. As far as reading cds go, the eclipse is better but when it comes to highs not being amped, the eclipse has nothing on the alpines. Both have really good sound quality. Specs for the eclipse which was like 13x4rms compared to the alpines 27x4rms. I would take a pioneer over either 3 of these choices. MY brother also had the apline 7873 model and switched over to the premier 840. That thing has so many more options for adjusting everything, it was unbelievable. Although i still think the alpine beats the pioneer on how high the highs are. overall the pioneer has way more adjustment

We need a price range.
I love my RF 8250(don't think Sounddomain has any left though). Other than that, I would buy another Eclipse in a heartbeat.
