I dont know why they flame Alpine HU's. I think theyre really good. They always tell me that Alpine will always screw up on ya and youll have it in the shop more than itll be in my truck. I was wondering what you guys thought of Alpine HU's.

Alpine is one of the best, if not the best maker of head units.
New setup in the works:
Vehicle: 1999 Ford Windstar
Head Unit: Pioneer Premier DEH-P860MP
Signal Processing: Profile Q100 3-Way active crossover, set to 80hz and 3.5khz
High Pass: the legendary Aura tweeters powered by a Pioneer GM-3000T
Band Pass: Ascendant Audio 6.5" Poly Midwoofers powered by a Pioneer GM-5000T
Low Pass: Elemental Designs 19Ov.2 in 3ft^3 tuned to 30hz, powered by a Power Acoustik 2APC-1400

Thats what i think. I hear a lot off good things on this site. But everyone else flames them. Maybe cuz they cant afford them.LOL

They're one of the best IMO. Not all that user-friendly, but usually have a good amount of features.

If you like them, who cares what they think.
Perhaps they had a bad experience, or are just uneducated. Everyone has their own opinions, however.

They have no clue what they are talking about and I would have to say they are " total uneducated noobs" I feel ya on the user interface of the new decks being a little difficult, only so much stuff you can have a deck do without a 10" screen haha! I have owned 5 alpine decks total personally and my sis has had two and not one of them has ever let me down period, one of my decks is going on it's 3rd car! Alpine is a very classy deck... higher end that most out there and the one person is right they bash them because they cannot afford them.
mabye they are kinda ugly looking, but from many people i've heard that they're built with superior circuitry (at least the high end ones).

People can be misinformed by salespeople too. If a customer shops in a store that doesn't sell Alpine, and asks a salesperson if they carry Alpine, that salesperson (ususally a younger, non-savy salesperson) will immediately start flaming Alpine. That customer then believes whatever garbage is spewing from that sales person's mouth and hence you have this problem.
FYI: Best Buy is going to start selling Alpine in the 3rd quarter of 2005.![]()
Alpine is top of the line. Love their features, controls, realiability. IMO they also make some of the best looking HU's. With that said.....I'm getting Kenwood...LOL, only because I need a DD and Alpine is kinda lacking in that area.
my alpine is pimp!
