Pioneer DEH-P8400MP problems!

I bought this from a friend about 6 months ago and it worked fine until the other day. The unit will power up one out of 100 times if I keep hitting the power button. If I try to open the face it will imediately shut off then close itself up and power back up if I keep hitting the power button. Everytime the unit comes back on it resets itself. I would like to know if this is a common problem and if there is a way to fix it. I can't send it in for warranty because I don't have a reciept. LMK what I can do because I'm cureently driving with no sounds.

Take it out and check the wires... make sure everything's in place.
