Re: All Alpine Recievers ( Defeat On Or Off)

i leave mine flat, and the sub at +0. if you got yoru setup all right and good enough power, you dont need that stuff. although you can use the eq to make it sound nicer i would suggest a seperate eq if your gonna go that far. oh and mx, keep it off at high volumes (imo 15 and up). only use it on low volumes when you want a little more bass and your music sounds "deeper" if you will.

Is the "mx" you're talking about similar to the "loud" function on other hu's? Why do you keep it off at higher volumes?

I have a Pioneer DEH-P545 and I have the "loud" function on because without it, the bass doesn't go as high as I like (even at the maximum +6) and the added trebble sounds nice too. I crank my volume with "loud" turned on and it sounds good to me. Good bass kicks (lots better than w/ it off) and good overall sound. Is this function damaging my speakers? It'd be hard to imagine I could since I'm only running off the HU (40w x 4 which is probably peak).

Defeat is a setting if you have factory amps. It goes to the amps settings instead of the headunit, if its ON.

yes mx is the same thing as loud. at higher volumes it has the tendency to cause distorition. yourl makin the HU process the signal differently and try to create more than it can at higher volumes which is why it can cause distortion. dont know about you but ill leave mine off.

Re: All Alpine Recievers ( Defeat On Or Off)

yeah with my 9827, i leave my bass at like 0 or +1 and i only turn MX on when the windows are up and the volume is below 8. Other than that, MX adds crazy bass and shakes my car to peices ;x

Re: All Alpine Recievers ( Defeat On Or Off)

    lol

all defeat does is turns off mx and the Head units EQ so the only thing u can actually play with is the built in crossovers

so it keeps the sound pure well.. factory if u like.. like a normal cd player.. no special sound add-ons..
