what do you think of Premier DEH P8MP's

Installed a few at work. I hate the design. It is cumbersome and stupid in my opinion. My best advice to you is to try one before you buy. You will either love it or hate it. That is the reaction i get when i demo it for people. There really is no in between. Its kinda a love or hate thing. Good features in the deck, i jsut dont like the layout.

Always get a head unit for usability and looks. Ignore the wattage ratings right now. I've never seen more than a 12 watt amp installed into a head unit.

I like the looks, never used it so I don't know how much functionality it has with it's design. It seems kinda misplaced in their product line though. It's like someone came up with the design, and Pioneer felt it was absolutely necessary to use it. Nothing special feature wise.........pretty much the same as the 760MP only with a different display. I'd rather spend the extra $70 (MSRP) and get the 860MP.

I have the Pioneer DEH-P80MP...the only difference is the warranty? I don't know. Pioneer (for some reason) took it off their site...???

The deck is different, it goes with the interior of my RSX eventhough the display is Deep Blue. I just fell in love it and picked it up within a week I installed it and running the unit @ 60 watts.

The only problem I have is uploading my own movies/pics...

well it has 60 watts by 4 deck power (peak power) 6.5 volt low resistant preouts, 3 band parametric eq, and that knob in the middle that takes a while to get used to, havent sold one yet, people say "hey thats a cool deck!, Ill take the JVC for 139.99 please" idiots

I sold three of the 8mps this week. They are catching on in our area alot. i am starting to get used to the layout, im starting to like it more and more. The deck has two settings 40w and 60w. Truthfully it sounds better to me at the 40w setting...Go figure.

Do i need to wire the head unit a certain way, because i have been unable to get my headunit into 60w mode even when the switch is on 60w.

PS I have a 1999 Mitsu Eclipse GST w/ an accesory switch. Any help would be appreciated. I would like to see if any difference can be heard.
