    This Kenwood vs This Pioneer?

Hello. I recently have a Kenwood KDC-MP338 Head unit.
The Specs include: RMS Power: 22 watts
    Peak Output: 50 Watts
    Sub Preamp outputs No
    Preamp Voltage: 2.5 volts
    Eq Bands: 3
NO HPF control on this unit

Interested on buying this one (Pioneer DEH-X7500S)
Specs include. RMS Power: 14 Watts
    Sub Preamp outputs: Yes
    Preamp Voltage: 4 volts
    EQ Bands: 5

Is it worth the change, in able to have more control of the frequencies on the highs and mids? Would really appreciate the feedback. Thanks..

I am looking to control my speakers better. When I barely the raise the gain on the amp, there are some harsh notes through some of the songs I play. HPF on my amp is already set right. So yeah, pretty much a Head unit that control the highs better than what I got now.

look into clarion cz702, alpine147bt, 148bt and 149bt, pioneer 80 prs and kenwood X998. They have auto eq and time alignment with a mic that completely negates harshness and makes any speakers sound better. The internal sound processor is a lot better too along with almost limitless tuning options. I'll never go back to junky 140$ and under head units ever again.

No experience with Kenwood h/u's, but I love my pioneer.

    H/U- Pioneer AVH X-5600BHS
    front stage- pioneer 3way 6x8
    rear fill- pioneer 4way 6x8 and 2-way 4x6
Amp(s)- Kenwood KAC 1502S (connected to rear 6x8's), Rockford Fosgate T500-1bdcp and Alpine Mrv-M500
Sub(s)- 2 American Bass TNT1244, each in a 1.7 cubic ft sealed (Yeah that's right, sealed) custom built enclosure
And a Kenwood 12 in a prefab box.
    Happy, but not finished.

I had a Alpine CDA-117 which is one of Alpines last great SQ decks. My 80prs crushes it in every way.

The 80PRS are very good but something missing in the sound, the 194BT sound fuller.

lol, making me feel trashy, Jeff

If Pioneer was thoughtful enough to include Sirius/XM with the added $170 cost over the Kenwood i might have gone with the Pioneer, using the 80prs would require a dedicated satellite tuner and that's one component too many cluttering up the dashboard..

There are no aftermarket head units with a built in SiriusXM tuner. It would force people to pay a recurring fee to use a feature over which the manufacturer has no control. That is a customer service disaster easily avoided.

What i meant to imply: Sirius/XM Ready, such as the Kenwood KDC-X597 in my signature.

How serious are the differences between a double din and a high quality single din?
