    Good first HU?

Im getting my License around the end of November. I have a '95 Ford Escort LX with 60k miles on it.

Im planning on getting a nice sound system but literally know nothing about them. I plan on getting subs/new speakers/the whole 9 yards.

Best place to start is a HU right?

What would be a good HU to start out with? My price range for my whole set up is 500-600 bucks.

Somebody recommended i get one with a low pass hi pass filter also, thanks.

(PS: My radio in my car wont even turn on, the fuse isnt broken so i have no idea what the problem is :/)

i own that one and I like it but you may want to do some more research on what all the functions do and what your end goal is.

hpf lets your speakers play all frequencies above the set level play

lpf lets your speakers play all frequencies below the set level play

and He meant RCA's, they are where you plug in the signal cables from your head unit to the amplifiers.

My end goal is just a nice clear yet bassy sound. Im buying an HU, new speakers, an amp, and subs.

I probably wont expand, im not an audiofile like some of you guys here, just want to be able to bump in style and enjoy good quality hip hop!

Plus 500 dollar sound system is enough for a car that only cost about 1k!
