I am curious of this as well...
Prs has more built into. It's closer to a 9887 with imprint but imprint offers even more. I like the alpine sound myself
- 2010 Scion tC
- Alpine CDA-117
- JL 450/4v2 Active (Mid range, tweeters) JL 300/2v2 (Mid bass) DC 5K(Subs)
- Hertz HV 165XL
- Hertz HT28
- JL ZR800
- 2 x DD 9512i
- Singer 300 amp 15.1v bypass, 3 XS D3400s
- DD M4a and XS D3100 coming soon
- Viper 5701 with Smart Start
ive had multiple of both.
the imprint was nice. but basically the 80prs stomps all over it all day long.
1. built in Bluetooth
2. 16 band eq
3. 28bit da
4. 3 sets 5v preouts
5. more inputs
and the rest of the features are about the same.
I went from the eclipse 7100 to the 9887 to the 80prs and I can tell you the 80prs is my favorite... Better warmer sound better bass better mid reproduction... Never had the pleasure of using imprint with my 9887 tho
I loved my 9887 I had with Imprint. I just got an 880PRS to play with in my second car so we'll see how that goes. I gave up on Pioneer for a few years after I had 2 CD players in a row that skipped horribly once the music got in the 140 DB range.

RIP Taylor aka NewAgeKing, you are missed!
I can grab either one for 200 right now so if you were in my shoes what would you go with?
youd take the 9887, and hook me up with the new prs for 200 now. the pioneer man.
