Not sure if this breaks your bank, but I just got a Pio AVH-P8400BH and so far have zero complaints (got it for 550). If you don't need all of its features, you can step down to the AVH-P3400BT and still have a dang nice unit.

Pioneer avh1400. Got mine open box for $120. Was wanting the 3400 but couldn't pass up the deal.

I was actually looking at the AVH-P3400BT, kinda at the top of my budget at 400. Just wondering what other good headunits are out there before I commit to that one.

It's worth the added expense. I wouldn't skimp on a good HU but kudos to you if you can find a steal

Definitely a good deal, however i really don't need that many features. For the most part i just drive around town and just want something that looks nice and will be an improvement on my stock hu. I was also looking at the app radio, anyone have experience with it? Also I just saw the AVH-X1500DVD, it looks pretty good and it's affordable for sure.

That's the appradio 2, and would you recommend that? I talked myself out of it just thinking about having to use the scree to scroll through 900 songs to find the one i want since it doesn't have an aux

if you want an ap radio without a dvd then yes ,i like the avhp 4400bh personally

Appradio2 was my runner-up. I decided to upgrade to the 8400 because I only wanted to buy 1 HU to last me for quite some time. I actually use the HD Radio and disc drive, so that ended up swaying my decision. If you don't care about those, the AR2 should suit you fine. It does have a great screen from my experience.
