Pioneer AVH-P8400 BH iphone 5 compatible?

With this HU you can buy a cable that plugs into the iPhone, and then it turns into a usb cable that you plug into the back of the HU. Then you can control the iPhone from the HU. They have one that fits the iphone4, but iphone5 has a different plug now.

Just wondering if anyone knows if the regular usb plug that comes in the box with the iphone5 would work for audio/video on this HU.

Owners manual says. "Depending on your iPod, there may not be any output unless you use CD-IU201V (sold separately). Be sure to use CD-IU201V to connect your iPod." (cable also works for iPhone)

Is it just a money grab? Money grab or not they don't make one for the 5 yet.

I own a Kenwood KDC-448U, and my iPhone 5 works just fine with the head unit and the supplied USB. Full control over the iPhone, same as my iPod touch and iPhone 4.

So just a regular usb cable plugged into the usb cable that came with the iphone5?

My USB input is on the front face, so I just use the cable that was supplied with the iPhone straight into the head unit.

Good to know! Hopefully the pioneers are the same. Should be picking up a new phone in the next couple days.
