Music from my Ipod not as loud Compared....

My music from my Ipod does not go as loud as the radio stations or the music cds that I play from my Kenwood Head unit. Could it be the aux cord that i'm using since its pretty thin?
Volume offset is set to zero by the way.

Is the volume on your ipod all the way up? Size of the aux cord won't matter, the strength of the signal being put out by your ipod doesn't require a large cable at all.

are you using a headphone jack aux cord, or an actual iPod adapter? anything i plug into my aux cord (pandora on phone) is much lower volume than the iPod on the iPod adapter. idk why really tho. just accepted it as the way it is

Re: Music from my Ipod not as loud Compared....

Because aux is a low quality analog signal.

    Plus ipods compress music

The combination of the two is obvious compared to a CD which is 320kbps and a direct signal

I think actual purchased CDs are higher than 320. I know on my iPod adapter there is a gain adjustment to level it out with the other sources.

I only use a LOD cable to connect my ipod to my kenwood deck. It by passes the ipods amplifier.

Really? I always thought the standard high quality CD bitrate was 320. Everytime I've ripped one onto my computer it comes out 320

    Maybe I am wrong tho.

Who uses CD's these days anyway

Re: Music from my Ipod not as loud Compared....

Change the volume offset so the iPod music is louder. That's what it's there for. It has nothing to do with the aux cord or the quality of the music on your iPod.

I do. Originals and 320/256vbr copies. Not that ipods/mp3 players/flash drives, aren't useful. i just prefer a well recorded disc.
