What Is The Best "New School" Alpine Head Unit?

I'm looking for a head unit... I almost got a 7998 Phantom last night but I screwed up my bid.

Anyhow, what is the better of the new school decks that have bluetooth, iphone compatibility, etc?

why not the 80 prs ? its one of pioneer's best on the market now.

its worth the extra cash tho josh,you get a t/a 16 band eq ,very nice blue tooth, and 3 way active ,i mean this deck gives you what the alpines cant unless you but the imprint

As far as i can tell the only change between the 8400 and 9400 is cosmetic, is there any advantages to the 9400 vs the 8400?

The Pioneer gives you more than the Alpines even get with Imprint. Lol.
But the 9887 is the best new school Alpine deck. I would take that over a CDA 117 anyday.

Are you looking for single or double din? Pioneer has always been one of my fav HUs. Probably the best thing they make lol. Alpine is really nice to. I had the CVA-1000 when it first came out in high school. First ever flip out screen. Kinda baller when you're in high school I suppose, but I also had a full-time job while I was in high school. I just bought a Kenwood 6980 with Navi. Paid $370 shipped for it, which I hear was a slam dunk. I guess we'll see when I get it. I never owned or used a Kenwood before. I know it retails for $1,000 new and $650 refurbished. I know a guy that just got the Pioneer AVH-8400 and he loves it. He had the 4200 before and said the 8400 is much better. Better screen and you can use your apps from your phone so you don't need to buy navi. You can find the 8400 for around $525 if you look around, but you have to buy all the interfaces and modules which can add a couple hundred bucks easy. Shoot me over those parameters for the Havoc if you get them please! I emailed Pipo to see if maybe he can get them too. I need to get a box started so hopefully we get it sooner than later brotha.

Hey fellas, thanks for the input... Looks like 9887 is where it's at but I really REALLY want my 7998 back... Like badly.

I'm partial to Alpines. I'm a huge Alpine nuthugger and I admit it. I love Alpine and never gave anything else a chance... You know those things that you love and you know there are better things out there? That's me and Alpine... I know Eclipse and Pioneer are fantastic.

I had a top end Eclipse deck that given to me by the shop I installed at back in the day and I sold it and got an Alpine 7904 instead. I just love me some Alpine.
