This isn't exactly my favorite but it's what I currently have. The 7525.

I like the non China stuff. Better quality. China stuff started with a 98** model# i believe. So much plastic in the decks now.

That's the 7998. It's awesome. It closes up when you shut the car off and looks like the faceplate has been romoved. Also ridick SQ.

Although I do have the 9887 now. I know this sounds crazy, but it's not as "warm" as the OG stuff. Lol. I had the 117 in my truck and it was "aiight."

Yo that thing is dope.... I never had that one though. I'm thinking of another one with a similar face. If you ever want to let that go, let me know... I'd almost be willing to bypass OEM integration in the escalade to rock that head unit. Lol

It's long since been in the trash. I would have never gotten another HU, but it took a dump on me. I mean, 10+ years is a good run. Lol.

Also, I have become spoiled by iPod control and what not. I've had some unbelievable HU since the 7998. Including a McIntosh double din and a copper chassis, silver wired, top o' the line 8v preout, dual Burr Brown 24bit DAC Eclipse and I gave it all up so I can listen to my stupid compressed music. Lol.

I have a 9845 (I think). Not the best HU ever, but it does the job. But it does feel cheap as hell. Almost like you could put your finger through it hitting the buttons. Lol. I hope the higher lines aren't like that!

Ah, I hear you... Thats why I still want to have a disc player in there no matter what... I'm a big audiophile so even my non transcoded V0 .mp3's sound like crap to me but they're just so easy to work with.

7998, one of my favorites as well, despite never owning it.... it's one of my dreams. Dead head too Also, a 9813 would be awesome.
