First of all, I an new to car audio business, so please be gentle on me.
I have 2006 Nissan Sentra with Rockfoed Forsgate system (Single DIN that includes speakers with a subwoofer and 6 CD changer). I would like to replace it with a head unit that plays mp3s and preferably has better sound. The factory installed system sounds pathetic when played though aux input with anything, high end portable audio to cheapo one.
I did some research and came down to 3 models, Sony CDX-GT565UP, Kenwood Excelon KDC-X396 and Pioneer DEH-6400BT. (Sorry, my first post and forum won't let me post URL of comparison)
If I understood correctly, Kenwood stands out among the 3 for,
- Higher RMS output,
- 6 channel Preamp output (Not too sure if I can make use of it)
- It has sub preamp output, which I guess will be connected to the subwoofer.
- Higher preamp voltage
- 2 years warranty (I don't trust electronics lately. They don't make durable stuff anymore, no matter how much you pay, I guess.)
- Less number of EQs
- Weaker FM reception
Pioneer has bluetooth connectivity but isn't at par with Kenwood for specs.
Now my question is, am I right going for Kenwood, from specs at least? Is there any concern about Kenwood car stereos that I am not aware of? For bluetooth, I guess, I could use handsfree. I am little confused, expert opinion needed.
Is there any other head unit you want me to consider, I welcome the suggestion.
Thanks in advance.
