help with digital media HU

like the title says.. looking for a HU for my 05 tacoma, it doesn't matter to me if it is a single or double din. Are there any HU's that will power and run an external hard drive? also would like to be able to plug my iphone in via a usb to control/charge it. so i guess im looking for one with 2 usb ports....are there any? thanks in advance.

Sounds like you are looking for a "Car Puter" if that is really the way you want to go.

Much easier way would be a head unit that can read media from a USB Stick
Many if not most head units will allow you to hook up a iPhone/Ipod

I think double DIN headunits look much better than single sized in most cars

na i dont want a "puter" all my music is digital so it would have been nice to just be able to plug a external HD to it and then be able to pull it out and add new music to it... but o well.. thanks for the info

My Head Unit is a little bit expensive (but a lot of nice)
It is a Pioneer Avic-Z2
It has a hard drive built into it
It stores 30 gigs of music on it
I paid about $1,500 for it when it first came out but I think they are selling for around $1,000 now.
I love it it is very good unit

I'm bout to buy an Alpine single Din IDA x305S. you can upload your music to a USB Stick and wouldn't need the HD. the Only thing I need to find out is how much memory that USB can have max. that's my Mission right now.
