Clarion VX401 or Kenwood DDX616 ??

First and foremost, I am not a car audio guru.

With that out of the way, I'm going to be building a system around on of these head units and I wanted to know if anyone out in the interweb universe had any feedback on one or both?

My general observation is the Clarion is much sleeker in outward appearance but has a bland-ish interface. The Kenwood isn't as visually appealing but seems to have much more audio functions and a cleaner interface.

Any and all comments are welcome, especially from owners of either of these HU's. Thanks for the help in advance.

Exactly what do you mean by "bland-ish" and "cleaner" interface? I've recently installed two of the Clarion units and my customers love them and I noticed no problems with either, I haven't played with the Kenwood products in a while so I'm kind of in the dark as to your meaning.....
