Hi, I have an Alpine 9886 w/o imprint. The debate is... should I buy imprint and tune it or should I get the Eclipse 7200 mkii?
What would you do?
Opinions and experiences are appreciated! Any other recommendations are welcome as well.
Thanks

I would sell it and get the Eclipse 7200 MKII. There's really no comparison between an "Imprinted" 9886 and the 7200 MKII.

I also just realized you're open to other suggestions. In that case, you can pick up a Premier 800/880 for pretty cheap online. I got my 800 through 6ave.com (an authorized dealer for Pioneer) for less than $350 shipped bnib.

i was told the exact same thing until i called alpine directly. with the x100 and the imprint you can manually set everything. there are 2 types of imprint kits.
the imprint that goes with the ida line must remain connected to the unit at all times for it to work. you can set it manually and adjust as you like or auto-tune and leave it on that setting.
the other imprint (for the 9887) must be connected to use but once you auto-tune the settings are stored in the head unit and the imprint can be removed.
