I have seen many many good things about the 800prs, although I have never gotten to try one for myself.

No doubt man, plus they have a higher pre out voltage than the alpine's. Idk how would this compare to the 9887. Rightnow I am just looking for other HU brands to try out, I was lookin at clarion too.

    You won't be disappointed.

    Yep.

I've been a die hard Clarion guy for the past 20 years. This the first time I've chosen a Pioneer over a Clarion.

DIY did a review between the two. I was stuck between those two as well as the Eclipse 7200.

i've got the 800 and it's awesome. i replaced an alpine 9855 with it which has almost all the same features as the 9887. i love it. by far the best hu i've had. by the way, you can get it through amazon from 6ave.com for 344.44 plus free shipping. 6ave is an authorized dealer. when you get the receipt, it doesn't say anything about amazon, just 6ave.

I just finished my install using the DEH-P980BT and I love it! I've got a CDA-9887 in my wife's Altima, and I think the P980BT is a much nicer deck!

Listen to you ears because some will say they upgraded from Alpine to JVC. I've heard all mentioned and owned some of them. Imo, no Pioneer sounds better than Alpine and Eclipse.

If the new Pioneer are anything like the ones in the past few years i would recommend anyone to buy them with their crappy RCA outputs going bad all the time.
