    Kenwood KDC-X592 HELP???

I recently purchased Kenwood's KDC-X592. There are many things that I like about the unit but it has some flaws. One of the reasons that I purchased a new unit was to utilize a usb thumb drive. But I quickly found more than one reason not to like the setup. The biggest being that when the unit is powered off when playing from the usb drive, the next time you turn on the unit it doesn't start from the same song (it starts over). Is this how all units with usb support function? It is kind of annoying to scroll through all of the songs. Am I doing something wrong?

    Other annoying problems:
    - animations can't' be turned off
    - using kenwoods music editor to sync usb drives (create playlists, why not recognize a standard playlist .m3u?)

Does anybody have any thoughts or suggestions on units that would overcome these annoyances?

    Re: Kenwood KDC-X592 HELP???

I have the same HU, but never used a thumb drive on it, but with the Ipod it plays right where it left off from the last time it was on. So maybe it's time to get an Ipod
You could be screwed with the thumb drive...

As for the animations, mess around with all the menus, go through them all, get to know the HU, the animation setting is Demo Mode I believe, read the instruction manual about it; there should be a procedure in there to turn it off.

Never used the music editor software.

I really like the HU, just to awhile to get used to.
    Sorry I couldn't help much
