was shown these two units today as being comparable to each other. anyone have any experiences with either?

I would take the Alpine over the Kenwood. I sold Kenwood and Alpine for four years. The Alpine in my opinion is a much better unit all around.

For that paticular model yes, but if you look at the excelon line, they are very good. Have always been satisfied with them.

I have that Alpine and am very pleased with it. My girlfriend has a similar Kenwood, I kind think it *****.

Between the two I would say Alpine Ive had both brands and prefer Alpine myself.

And if your price range is around 130 I would recommend this unit

Ok, so eliminate the Kenwood and what would be the best choice between the eclipse and the alpine?? I do want to use an I-pod nano thru the system.

I say either that Alpine, or for $220 you can get the DEH-P6900UB.
Except you have to either use Auxillary or buy the iPod attachment to use iPods.
