'Reverse' Sub option? WTF?

I have had my deck (see sig) for about 2 months now, and I never could figure out what is the reverse sub option on my deck is for. It has off/ normal/ and reverse. I know somebody knows, simple question I hope

Yea changes the phase of the sub if you reverse mount it.
